Coordination To make optimum use of the available
resources (funding, manpower, equipment) it is essential
that (ongoing and future) activities by government,
donors and investors, towards the improvements of performance
of PDAMs, are well coordinated.
Demonstration Demonstration of 'best practices'
in the different fields of water supply services is
crucial to convince PDAM managers and owners (mayors)
that it is possible to improve the performance by changing
their approach, organization, legal entity, technology,
and human resources policies.
Promotion PERPAMSI has an obligation to
its members to promote professional business principles
in the operation of a PDAM. This will be centered around
the key principles of 'Full Cost Recovery' and the provision
of Drinking Water. Promotion also means to provide information
on the potential for investment in PDAM activities by
local/foreign investors, with feasibility studies and
tender procedures. Investors can stay informed through
our partnerships with other water supply associations
worldwide.
Motivation A PDAM can only reach its ultimate
aim of providing a sustainable service to its customers,
if all employees are motivated to do the tasks set for
them and fully participate in the Company operation.
