The water enterprise of Jember
(also known as Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum
Jember) Jember is owned by the local government of Jember
in order to provide piped water to the general public.
The PDAM was founded with the issuance of Local Regulation
No. 4/1975, which was amended in 1992.
Apart from providing piped water, the objectives of
the PDAM, in accordance with Act 5 of the Local Regulation
Corporate Act, are to help facilitate:
• local economic growth;
• widen development projects; and
• national economic growth, both in general terms,
and in terms of fulfilling household and business needs
in accordance with prosper and equitable society.

The functions of the PDAM are as follows:
• Social function: the PDAM has
an obligation to provide water services to all layers
of society, regardless of social standing.
• Economic
function: to operate an a profit-oriented basis,
with emphasis on increased service area coverage.

and mid level climate.

Consist of 31 district (Kecamatan), 247 villages (Desa
