Good educational background is a vital element of effective
Human Resources in any company or organization; For
the Indonesian Water sector several activities and efforts
have been made to improve the education of water utility
employees.
There are good programs at several Indonesian
Universities in Environmental Engineering:
• ITB (Institute Technology Bandung)
• ITS (Institute Technology Surabaya)
The institutions above make S1 programs
Furthermore,
the Education and Training Foundation of PERPAMSI has
it own Diploma 3 programme in Environmental Engineering,
which is taught at the Akademi Titra Wiyata in Magelang.

Finally there are good opportunities
for study abroad, specially if scholarships can be obtained.
The best educational institute abroad at this moment
is in the Netherlands. This is the Institute
for Hydraulic Engineering (IHE), which
provides MSc courses for students from all over the
world in Sanitairy Engineering and Utility Management.
Students from Indonesia can, under certain
conditions, obtain scholarship from the Dutch Government.
