BENCHMARKING PDAM
The PDAM Benchmarking
system, implemented by PERPAMSI, is based on the understanding
that Water Utilities (PDAM) to function more effective
and efficient will benefit tremendously from comparative
information from similar water utilities.
PERPAMSI, as
the professional Water Association for the Water Utilities,
focuses in its vision and mission statement on supporting
more efficient operation of PDAMs in order to increase
coverage and improve customer service. For that reason
PERPAMSI developed, with donor assistance (Worldbank),
a PDAM Benchmarking system, which can
be used as management tool for PDAM to score and evaluate
own performance and make comparison with other water
utilities with same characteristics in Indonesia. Also
donor agencies, government departments and other stakeholders
can use it very well for planning and monitoring purposes. The data base
currently contains 80 Water Utilities (PDAM) in Indonesia,
including most of the larger ones.
